Ivan, Viscount d'Oyley, born Alastair Ivan Ladislaus Lucidus Evans, (2 February 1880 – 26 May 1904) was an American who competed for France at the Olympics in fencing. He competed in the individual épée event at the 1900 Summer Olympics.[1] He inherited the title of Viscount from his father, an American dentist, Dr. John Henry Evans.[1] Dr. Evans worked on Pope Leo XIII, who gave him the title of the Marquis d'Oyley.[1] Viscount d'Oyley killed himself from a self-inflicted gunshot.[1][2][3]
